Birth of BackRelief - The scientific bases

Sitting on a forward tilt has several ergonomic benefits, including:

  • Improved posture : A slightly forward-tilted seating surface encourages a natural straightening of the pelvis and upper body, which helps relieve strain on the spine.

  • Reduced pressure on the spine : Sitting at a slight angle can reduce pressure on the spine, helping to prevent back pain.

  • Encouragement of dynamic sitting : A dynamic sitting position, facilitated by a tilt of the seat, allows you to change posture regularly, thus engaging different muscle groups and preventing fatigue.

  • Improved visual distance : A front tilting chair can improve visual distance and angle to the task at hand at the work table.

Forward tilt adjustment
A forward tilted seat, where the front of the seat is slightly lower, changes the angle between the trunk and thighs. This configuration promotes a better tilt of the pelvis, helping to maintain the natural curvature of the spine.

This posture encourages an upright and active sitting position, engaging the back muscles while providing adequate support. In a forward-leaning seat, the hips are slightly higher than in a conventional sitting position. However, it is important that the tilt is not excessive, to avoid any risk of slipping or generating uncomfortable pressure on the feet.
